At The Sumner Post Office, we’re strong believers that every business should have a social mission at its core. Our mission is for our beer to make the world a better place.

Every month 5% of our beer revenues from our venue, is donated to a different New Zealand organisation. Not profits…… revenues, that’s approximately 30 to 50% of our venues profit – we give away to local organisations each and every month. No terms and conditions, no small print – we just put the money straight into the back pockets of important local organisations and charities across the South Island. From One Mother to Another

Through the simple act of gift giving, we care for and empower parents and whānau with sick babies and children.

Each month, 5% of beer revenue is donated to a local organisation doing incredible work in the community. For this month, we are proud to support One Mother to Another, a charity dedicated to spreading kindness and comfort to whānau with children in hospital.

Founded by two mothers who experienced the challenges of having a child in hospital, One Mother to Another creates and delivers care packages to parents and caregivers in neonatal and paediatric units throughout Aotearoa. These packages include thoughtful items such as snacks, self-care essentials, and handwritten notes of encouragement, providing a small but meaningful reminder that these families are seen, supported, and cared for.

Spending time in hospital with a sick child can be overwhelming and isolating. The work of this organisation helps ease the emotional burden by offering comfort during some of the most difficult times a family can face. Their mission is built on human connection, empathy, and community support.

By enjoying a beer this month, you’re helping to fund these care packages and spreading hope and kindness to families when they need it most.
